International—Intrigue—Injustice

O Captain!

Hold on tight! This last season has included more trips than ever. In August 2005 Anne de Graaf spoke at the famed Greenbelt Arts Festival in Cheltenham, England. Then in October she conducted writing workshops at a weeklong holiday camp in the Vendée, France, sponsored by Spring Harvest UK. November found her in Moscow with her husband and good friends Maureen and Marty Fossum, as they nosed around the Pushkin museum during an exhibition of war trophy art “liberated” by the Soviets during WWII (a story thread in her swip [supposed work-in-progress]). In November she headed for Monrovia, Liberia, to interview former child soldiers for a children’s book, on assignment from Dutch publisher Jongbloed.

The good news is, readers can order Into the Nevernight in the UK (and U.S.) now through standrewsbookshop.co.uk

The really good news is the Dutch version of Nevernight is out, and it’s called Nimmernacht. It can be ordered at any Dutch bookstore.

In her search for hope in places of darkness, Anne de Graaf has been privileged to visit places of conflict all around the world. Sometimes the voyage can seem rocky and stormy, uncertain, and dangerous even.

Just when she thinks she’s got a handhold, learned some great truth, or understands the language, Anne de Graaf realizes she has no idea what she does not know. Many thanks to the friends around the world who have helped her navigate these uncertain waters.

Whenever it seems like holding on may be safest, she keeps discovering that the best (not to be sacrificed for the good) thing is often simply to let go!

“Anne de Graaf writes with emotional power that grips my heart even as it opens my eyes and illuminates my spirit. Not to be missed!”—Angela Hunt, author of Shadow Women
